Susanne Chen is of Chinese heritage but was born and raised in German Switzerland. She started playing the bassoon at the age of 19, and studied privately with Manfred Sax in Zurich. After moving to New York, she continued her studies with Marc Goldberg at the Mannes College of Music, where she earned her Professional Studies Diploma. She is an active freelancer and also holds Master's degrees in Information Systems and Psychology.
Katie Scheele is an active freelance musician and teacher who has played with several orchestras in the area including the Westchester Chamber Orchestra, the Long Island Philharmonic, the Reading (PA) Symphony and the NY Gilbert and Sullivan Players. She can be heard on over ten popular music albums and several independent film soundtracks. Ms. Scheele received her B.M. cum laude from Northwestern University and her M.M. from Boston University. Ms. Scheele teaches oboe at the Bloomingdale School of Music, the Rudolph Steiner School and is an Adjunct Professor of Music at Adelphi University.
